How Geocaching Works
This cache is located south of Cape Perpetua. The coordinates for the parking area are 44 15.727 N 124 06.586 W. It is a small pullout on the west side of Highway 101. From the parking area, walk about 100 yards south along the highway until you come to a guard rail. Step over the guard rail to see the Rabbit Hole a few more steps to the south.
Be careful as you go down the Rabbit Hole - it is steep, and in wet weather it could be slippery. The cache is a medium-size clear plastic rubbermaid container. After you find the cache, you might like to see the natural cave in the bank a ways to the north of the cache. The best way to approach is to walk down to the waterline and walk along the rocks for 100 yards or so. Unfortunately people have painted graffiti on some of the rocks around the cave, but it’s still interesting as a natural formation. The area has tidepools and some sandy hillside for play.
