Jenspaws: The wildlife has run off with the cache numerous times and I don't want to disturb any trees to help keep it there.

Geocache Description:

The best parking for this cache is: N44° 45.796 W090° 36.506
You are looking for a camo wrapped 35mm canister.
The point you are traveling is where the Black River and Rock Creek meet. This hike should be around a ½ mile round trip. BYOP and bug spray.

Take the trail that leads up the little hill right off the parking coordinates. Don’t go towards the house as your GPS may point. There is a section of tall grass on the trail in the summer, but not too bad. After you get through that, you should be on the path of the old railroad track. This is where the railroad ran through Greenwood. It was part of the Wisconsin Central or “Soo” from Marshfield and the Fairchild & Northwestern, “Foster Road” out of Fairchild. The railroad was very prosperous for Greenwood around the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Take the walk to the end if you would like, but be careful, it’s a big drop off.

Winter caching: These are the cross-country ski and snowshoe trails. It is more suited for snow shoeing since the trails are only roughly groomed for skiing. You have more ways to come to this cache in the winter. Just follow your GPS.

Congrats to Swamphog on FTF!
