This canyon is probably a place that many people have looked at thousands of times, but few have ever actually venture down to the bottom. When you hike down into this canyon, it will seem like a mini urban jungle.
The starting point for this cache is rather obvious, but I will let Geocachers figure that one out. If you do figure out the correct starting point, there is a well mark trail down into the canyon.
NOTE: The new hiding spot as of 6/15/2021. You are now looking for an extremely well camouflaged 8 oz plastic cylinder container. The 3.5 Star difficulty rating is based on the thick canopy cover and its effect on a GPS and the cache container is extremely well camouflaged. The cache is within reach of the well marked trail; so there is no need for bushwhacking. It's about 15 to 20 feet before the wooden bridge. The hint may be very helpful in finding this cache.
This cache is part of an unofficial mini Geo-U-Trail of several caches with good starting points at the west end of Shawn Ave or Taft Middle School. This well marked & maintained trail, thanks to the "Friends of Ruffin Canyon", will take you through the Ruffin Canyon Open Space.
