White Marble Falls Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Team Rampant Lion: Short notice, but I removed this cache today. Didn't like the effect of people scurring up the hill and found a spot for a new one within .1 miles.

Geocache Description:

This location is unique because of the extraordinary amount of white marble in the rocks. It seems to cascade down the hill.

The Sparta Glen Park is a spectacular jewel of a natural resource. The Township of Sparta is investing to bring it back to life after the historic floods of August 12, 2000 nearly wiped it out.

You can actually drive down close to the cache location and there are picnic and grills nearby. It's a really nice spot but what really caught my eye was all the white marble in the rocks.

The cache itself is a mortar case painted in a cammo style. It is filled with the usual goodies. There are some loose rocks in the area of the cache so take your time and watch your step.

Just a quick good caching reminder, although this park is right in the heart of Sparta it is rugged. New Jersey has many bears and poisonous snakes, I have seen both in this park. Know what to do if you have an encounter and it won't be a problem but a great and rare experience. If you are caching alone make sure someone knows where you are going as cell phones don't always work back here.
