Geocache Description:

Cache brings you to the location of St. Croix Island, one of the earliest European settlements on the North American coast. St. Croix Island International Historic Site is eight miles south of Calais off of Route 1.

This location is worth a visit to learn more about how the settlers of 1604 tried to make a home and survive in this "new" world and new climate. Park is open from April-May. Cache is not on park grounds.

***This cache may be hard to find when there is snow.***
