Geocache Description:

A dog themed cache. This is in an area of woodland very popular with dog walkers, although not overrun by any means.

Limited parking is available on Mount Road or Old Road. Please don't block the singletrack lane near the cache.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a replacement for my original cache, that was stolen. It is now at a less vulnerable location.

I think my previous cache was found by accident by local kids. Although this is hidden further from a path than the other one PLEASE REHIDE DISCRETELY!

Visit the Common Plot, and take a gentle stroll to the cache point. The cache is in a large click-lock plastic container

This cache is dog themed, in keeping with the popularity of the area with dog walkers (Ali the lurcher and I in particular). It is originally stocked with dog toys and accessories, amongst other bits and pieces more human orientated. Take a toy for your dog if you like, or take one as a swap, and donate it to a local dog rescue. Most vets have a collecting bin for toys for local charities, or drop it in to a PDSA, or a local rescue if you have one. If you have any old soft or squeaky toys please stash them. I'll collect them and donate them to SADPAWS in the town.

You don't HAVE to bring a dog or dog related swaps!

There is also a good chance you will find a print of one of my landscape or wildlife photos stashed as a special random prize. No swaps are required to take a print, so feel free.

As the cache is one for the canine cachers, I'd like to create a 'rogue's gallery' online. Bring a picture of your dog, either printed or as a file and leave it behind. There is also a disposable camera in the cache. Please leave some details about you or your dog.

Take a picture of yourselves if you are dogless.

During the warmer months there will be a collapsible dog bowl in the box (NOT A SWAP!). You will find a bottle of water, fresh enough for a thirsty dog nearby. Probably not suitable for human consumption! Please mention in your log if you finish the water off.

UPDATE: Ali sadly died on 11th September. This cache now lies as a memorial to him. Ali himself lies under the lone sycamore in the field above the cache site. We both loved walking up here every day, and I hope you had as much fun visiting the cache.
