ARCTIC STORM CACHE Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

Time for some Autumn clean-up before the snow flies and cache maintenance becomes more difficult.

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of a timely response to a prior Reviewer Note and because the Cache Owner has not been online for several months. If the owner would like to have it reinstated, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

ARCTIC STORM CACHE is in a 6" x 6" water tight clear plastic box.

The C/P ARCTIC STORM is a 334 foot Catcher/Processor fishing boat active in the Bering Sea Pollock fishery. The crew members and I decided that Dutch Harbor needed a new geocache, and decided to use our boat to "sponser" one.

Please see the photo that I have posted below showing the ARCTIC STORM as she pulls out of Captain's Bay.

For more than 23 years I have been coming to Dutch Harbor and have seen a number of changes over these years. The island is rich in history, and vibrant in various kinds of wildlife. The beautiful scenery can not be matched. Opportunites for photos are at every turn. I highly recommend time spent learning about the islands history and involvment in WWII.

The ARCTIC STORM CACHE is hidden at one of the islands historic locations.

*Remember to respect the land.

The cache box contains lots of treasure!! (wooden train whistle, brass snap hook, orange life jacket whistle, gold matchbox car, silver prism viewer, Tigger, large canves sail needle, old shackle, green army man, used APL container seal, little green frog, pink flower erasure, green life jacket whistle, Wyoming state quarter, etc.)

**Take the time to snap a photo of yourself and our cache and post it to the cache listing. We are monitoring it from afar and hope you like our cache...Wyoming Waypointer & the Arctic Storm Crew

***PLEASE make sure to properly close and seal the water tight box - and to carefuly replace it back into it's hiding spot so that it stays protected from the elements & mugglers. Thanks.
