Geocache Description:

The D. C. Booth Historic Fish Hatchery, established in 1896, is one of the West’s oldest fish hatcheries. Its history includes the introduction of trout into the Black Hills and the first fish management in Yellowstone Park. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Grounds are open year round. Buildings are open during summer season. The Hatchery offers a museum, historic home tour, fishponds, underwater viewing windows, gift shop, and short walking trails. Our family always enjoys taking time to feed the fish and ducks.

If you’re not familiar with Spearfish, the easiest way to get to the Hatchery is to take I90, exit 12, follow Jackson Blvd., turn left on Canyon St., which leads to the Hatchery.

This micro cache is a small black, magnetic key holder, log only. Bring a pencil to log your find.
