Geocache Description:

Cache is located in the Michael Huber Preserve.

One of Michael Huber Preserves most interesting features is a SPUNG located in the preserve. A spung is a hydrologically isolated wetland that relies entirely on rain and snowfall to maintain its water level. In this case, the spung at Four Mile is located on top of a layer of dense clay that prevents exchange with the groundwater. Because of this isolation, the spungs conditions are very dependent on varying precipitation throughout the year. Please observe posted rules and regulations of the park. No motor vehicle traffic is allowed on certain trails. Appropriate footwear may be required as cache location may be soggy seasonally. The preserve is maintained by the New Jersey Conservation Foundation. . For more information or to get involved please see their web site
