That's right Planet is hitting the big 29-U! 29 was such a good
age, she decided to stay there. So come One, come All to GoodFellas
in East Fishkill, NY on Rt 52. Just off I-84 and Taconic Parkway.
Meet at GoodFellas at 3PM.. until whenever, cache beforehand, come
check out the area. It's everyone for themselves, typical American
Fare, reasonable menu, wings, burgers, sandwiches, etc...We hope
you will come celebrate with us... it's a once in a lifetime
experience... share it with us! You only hit 29-U once, even though
we tried for S twice!
This area is overripe for an event. Winter is about to end and it
would be nice to get the OBC (Old Boy's Club) and everyone else
together.
Edited 1/15/07.... It's looking like we've got the makings for a
party already! Please RSVP here so we can give the restaraunt
something of an expected head count. Thanks.
UPDATE 2/19/07
Planet, Poohstickz and I have placed six caches for an
unorganized, informal, unplanned, pre-event hike. They are in a
brand new state park we have been exploring for a couple of weeks
now. I've uploaded a couple of pictures of the track with caches
but don't go until the caches are approved! There are two places to
park, one on Ludingtonville Rd. off I-84, and one at a park and
ride on Rte 311 but the trail head doesn't begin right at the lot,
so best off groups head out from Ludingtonville lot. We figure if
anyone wants to hike informally, we are planning on meeting at the
Luddingtonville Rd. parking lot at 10:00 AM, and waiting up to one
half hour, before beginning the hike. It's about 3-4 miles or so
(oneway), depending on how many caches you do, over rolling
terrain, the trails do manage to take you around hills. Two of the
caches are at the tops of hills. The elevation change shouldn't be
more than 300+ feet up any hill. If people want to organize
themselves and leave a car at either end, you could do that.
The park is new, so not all of the trails are marked well and
they are a bit rough. It's a place called Wonder Lake. The property
was Elizabeth Montgomery's summer estate, thus the cache names. The
hill is called Bare Hill. We hope you can come! See you on the
trails.
