Geocache Description:

The Cache is located in Bowdown Woods, a Nature Reserve North Of Greenham Common.

This is our second attempted cache at Bowdown Woods as the first was muggled.

Bowdown Woods is a varied nature reserve of 55 acres on the south side of the Kennet Valley.

The reserve stretches for half a mile along a wooded slope dropping down to the River Kennet. The higher ground is dry heathland with birch and oak. Whilst the wetter valleys are dominated by Alder.

Between the two large, wooded sections is a
plateau which was used as a wartime and post-war
munitions site.

Park at Bowdown House Car park (SU 505 653).

THE COORDINATES WERE TAKEN AS WELL AS WE COULD WITH THE RATHER DENSE TREE COVER.

Please take a photo with the cache cam (advisable to use the flash as it gets quite dark here).

PLEASE NOTE: The cache has been found uncovered a few times.. Please be sure to re-cover it with Bark, logs and even stones (to weight it down) and then place leaves and ferns etc; on top of that.

Thank you!
