Geocache Description:

Cache in a historical mining-area.

This stash is created for people which enjoy hiking across a deep forest in the backwoods. You will have to walk or to go by bicycle (mountain bike per preference) nearly 15 km. This trail is also interesting for mineral collectors.

1. Start at N 50° 58.549; E 07° 22.097 and note the year of construction of this (federal road) bridge. Assign the figures to the letters ABCD.

2. The next location you should pay a visit is N 50° 56.(B-D),(C-D+A),D; E 07° 24.(B-D),D,(C-D-A). You may walk along the "Lützenbach" and pass the hamlet "Schalken", where the Romans had been digging for copper metal in the first and second century.

At The location above you will find a big rock. Note the figures of the year, which is mentioned on the slab and assign them to the letters EFGH.

Find out the name of the historical mine near the border of the communities "Much" and "Engelskirchen" at the northern hillside of the "Heckberg". Fit the figures together with "04596781U56".

The stash is at N LS° LR.IHD; E SR° HI.ISI

On the direct pathway to this cache you will cross the area of this historical mine.

Good luck!
