A short walk along the Steamboat Trace from the Peru Depot Trail Head.
The cache container is now a hide-a-key. The trail is crushed limestone (as is all of the Steamboat Trace) and the cache requires no bushwacking. Use caution when reaching for the cache. There is parking at the Peru Depot Trail Head, as well as handicapped accessible restrooms. There is also a small campground (see photo for rules). The Steamboat Trace is open most of the year (closed during deer rifle hunting season) and is a 'day-use only' trail. There are donation receptacles at the trail head - there is no charge for using the Trace, but they suggest a $2/day donation. Enjoy!
