Good walking trails, but some uphill. No problem for children. No
pets are allowed. Available sunrise to sunset. Cache is in an ammo
box.
This cache is located on the hiking trails of Fields Pond Nature
Center in Holden. Fields Pond Road intersects with both Wiswell Rd.
in Brewer or Brewer Lake Rd. in Brewer/Orrington. Parking lot is
located at N44° 44.331 W068° 43.646. From the parking lot,
go to the map dispenser beside the Nature Center Building. Maps are
available for the trails. Continue walking on the gravel path into
the woods until you reach the 2nd Ravine Trail sign. This trail
circles around to this spot. These directions are for the right
fork. You will soon cross a stream bed and proceed up the trail on
the right side of the bed. When you reach the top of the trail,
instead of crossing the stone steps on the left, go right and
follow your gpsr. Winter "findability" will depend on the amount of
snow on the ground. The container has been frozen in at times.

September 22, 2009 by Ekidokai (492 found) Don't give up on this one. Stay on the trail until you get to about 100 feet or so from the cache, no matter what your GPSr says or points to before that. When you get there look to the right. In the clearing the GPSr will settle down nicely.Very nice area. Nice hide. Left football chain and big Maine pen. Arrived in Ekidokai's Okeydokey Mobile TB.

September 7, 2009 by El Nimrod (7677 found) Great trail system. Almost gave up on finding this one (GPSr jumping all over the place, no info, etc), but finally found it. Day 3 of 4 with Nook&Crannie on our Maine(iac) Cache Raid. Another day of fantastic weather, beautiful scenery, and great caches. This was one of 50 finds for the day. TFTC
