This cache is dedicated to the teachers, students, faculty and alumni of Orange Glen High School, and especially to the memory of Juan Cisneros, who was lost at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Juan was one of the best students I ever had, and a true patriot in every sense of the word.
The cache contains some items related to Orange Glen High, and red, white and blue items would be especially appropriate.
Found in Dixon Lake recreational area on part of the Jack Creek Trail, the cache is surrounded by beautiful coast live oaks and riverine habitat. In order to avoid habitat destruction, the cache is located just a few feet from the trail. Consequently, it is necessary to hide the cache very well. Experienced cachers will spot the cache site immediately, but for the benefit of novice cachers, I have provided hints that should leave little doubt as to where to find the cache.
Dixon Lake can be accessed from dawn to dusk, when the gates are closed. The cache can still be reached after dusk by taking Daley Ranch's Creek Crossing Trail eastward, then traveling south to the Jack Creek trail head. See aerial photos for details. A $1 day use fee will be charged on weekends and holidays, but you can also park on La Honda Dr. near the entrance, and the cache is still quite close.
