Dinoprophet: It is with great regret that I am archiving this cache. Hopefully in the near future, the state parks will adopt a policy that is friendlier toward geocaching. This cache was intended to bring people on a great hike in a remote park. I still recommend people check out this spot. It's a fun hike. Email me for historical info.

I will post a note when the cache has been physically removed.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Ortonville State Recreation Area. Horse accessible.

This is a rugged hike. There are several ways in, but expect at least a two mile round trip over hilly terrain with a steep final ascent. The trail is also often sandy and, in some spots, road apple-y.

There are trails right to the cache, but there are also numerous unmapped trails, making it easy to get lost. Please make good use of GPS and bring at least minimal survival equipment (water, matches).

Difficulty is 3 stars in heavy snow.
