Geocache Description:

Alert!! Alert!! Alert!! Alert!!

Having gathered data from every resource possible, the top scientists, astronomers, and anthroufologists have finally pinpointed the precise location where the Alien Migration will culminate. Ground Zero, designated as Area 7H is the recreation center in Calvin Park in the hamlet of  Seven Hills, Ohio.

As stated in past transmissions, the expected date of arrival of these alien beings is:

 Sept. 10, 2005

Because of their keen eyesight and awareness of their surroundings, teams of geocachers (3-6 to a team preferably) will be required to locate and round up the aliens. If it can be done, we know the geocaching community can do the job!

Though they look incredibly friendly at first....

Cute, even!

They're tricky little dudes & can keep you from accomplishing your mission if you let your guard down!

Step One:Begin here!

  1. Show up at the above coordinates at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2005 GPS in hand and be raring to go!

  2. You will be registered as you arrive and registration will end PROMPTYLY at 11:45 AM.

  3. The event will take place at Calvin Park Recreation Center in Seven Hills, Ohio. It is located at the end of Mapleview Drive off of Broadview Rd. (RT. 176). The facility is and indoor gynmasium/pavillion with acres of park land surrounding it. This year there will be running water and plenty of comfort facillities!!!

Step Two: Develop a Team

  1. ONE vehicle per team. Use of more than one will result in immediate disqualification!

  2. No less than 2 players per team. In fact, we suggest you have 3 or 4 players. It's ok to have 5 or 6 if you'd like... as long as you all fit in one vehicle. You'll want a driver, of course, a navigator, an athletic type, and a scientific clue master!

  3. If you don't have a team you are, of course, still more than welcome! It is hard to slot folks into teams at the event site so here are some suggestions:
    * Please try to form your teams BEFORE your arrival at the event.
    * If you do not have a team, please indicate this in your "will attend" post on this site.
    * If you are a single player, note those who are signed up. If they are from your area contact them and ask if you may join their team.
    * If you are a team with room for one more please contact single players and ask them to join you.
    * If you still don't have a team, don't despair! Let the registration folks know & we'll get you on a team with some awesome cachers!

Step Three:  Receive your instructions.

  1. Be on time so you don't miss one single piece of information! Late comers will be at a distinct disadvantage!!

  2. Decide which team members will be in charge of which game aspects as you are awaiting instructions.

  3. The briefing will begin PROMPTLY at 11:50 AM!

Step Four:  Planning

  1. Analyze your situation and and develop your scientific approach.

  2. Though this is a scientific investigation you will be using all your geocaching skills to apprehend the alien!

Step Five:  When the Area H7 Special Agents yell "Go" at approximately 12:15 PM, head for your vehicle and hit the road. (ALL normal laws and rules of the road apply!)

Special Notes:

  1. As part of the event, quite a few new permanent caches will be placed that can be claimed on Geocaching.com.

  2. Multiple prizes will be awarded.

  3. Children are welcome! Be sure, however, that they can tolerate an extended period of time in a vehicle.

  4. The Scientific Investigation will not take you any farther than 5 miles form the starting point in any direction.

  5. If you plan on staying overnight, please see the Accommodations section below for hotel and camping information.

  6. You'll find a wide variety of cache hides in the area, so by all means, make it a caching weekend and stay a few days!

  7. We all love dogs but due to the extensive indoor portions of the event, no dogs will be permitted.

  8. NO ALCOHOL is permitted on park grounds or in the building.
