Let get together for some paddling/caching on
the six mile stretch of the Catawba
river.
We will have a have a
safety briefing, tell paddling stories, and share trackables then
launch sometime around 10:00 AM and take 3 hours or so to enjoy the
scenery of the Catawba River. I have seen several bald eagles,
herons, osprey, deer, beaver, and otters on my paddles down
the Catawba.
This will be the wrap-up event for a fun Come-See-Me/ Goecaching
weekend
Camp Canaan has 17 boats (14 singles, 2 tandems and 1 canoe)
boats available for rent and will provide the shuttle service back
to the island for $3 if you rent from them, $5 if you have your own
boat.
I have room to shuttle 3
boats on my trailer
This section of the river is rocky and is relatively flat water but
has a few short sections of Class 1-2 rapids depending on
water levels.
Please Bring a lunch or snack
and plenty of water. To avoid getting a ticket from DNR please make
sure you have a whistle attached to you PFD.
