This hike takes you to a beautiful waterfall. When I first saw
it I immediately thought of a scene from the Movie "Last Of The
Mohicans". I could imagine the local Kiona Indians using the deep
cavern like overhangs along this trail for shelter as they traveled
and hunted.
I fell in love with this spot so much that I had to take my
IronMaiden here also. She has had a total knee replacement and
suffers from mild congestive heart failure. If she can make it so
can you!!
It was a tough go for her with 2-3 feet of snow piled on the
road for the first half mile but when we went into the timber it
was a bare trail. As she went at her own pace I set about clearing
the limbs and downed trees from the winters storms along the trail
with a hand saw. When we reached this spot we sat on a small bench
made from a rock ledge and had lunch. It was peacefull and
serene.
Sattelite reception is spotty at times so read the clues and
rehide so it cant be seen from the trail or the lookout vantage
point.
