Jackson Park Earth Day 2013 CITO Event Cache In Trash Out Event

This cache has been archived.

oregonjohn1: Since everyone who attended has logged in, it's time to wrap up this event. Including children and guests who helped clean up Jackson Park, 65 people should feel very good about now having a cleaner park!

Once again, to everyone who attended, to all my fellow co-hosts, to the Milwaukee County Parks Dept. and the wonderful Jackson Park staff, to Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, and to all the fine businesses who donated raffle prizes--- I want to express a very sincere thank you for helping make the Jackson Park Earth Day 2013 CITO Event a success!

Jackson Park CITO April 20, 2013 by the park pavilion --- 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

This year’s Earth day theme is “The Face of Climate Change”

On Earth Day, April 22, 2013, more than one billion people around the world will take part in the 43rd anniversary of Earth Day. From Beijing to Cairo, Melbourne to London, Rio to Johannesburg, New Delhi to New York, communities everywhere will voice their concerns for the planet, and take action to protect it. We’ll harness that power to show the world The Face of Climate Change. And we’ll call on our leaders to act boldly together, as we have, in this pivotal year.

For more information go to the Earth Day website.

Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!

We will pick up trash around designated areas with provided gloves and trash bags.

A number of new caches will be planned and released prior to the event.
