The Foreign Exchange Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

fraygirls: Hi All, we've checked on this one so many times over the years and usually found it snuggled in place. This time, however, was different - this cache has taken a walk! Instead of replacing it, we're going to archive and free up this area for someone else to place a nice scenic hide. This cache has had a long run; time to let someone else lead people to this pretty spot. Thank to all who have visited over the years!

Geocache Description:

Did you ever seek out a pen pal from another country...just for the interesting stamps? Do you think that the jingle of foreign coins seems more exotic than the sound of domestic coins? If you can or would like to answer yes to either of these questions, then this is the cache for YOU.

Welcome to Hugh MacRae Park, a nice little oasis in the middle of bustling Wilmington. This park boasts a scenic pond, tennis courts, ball fields, walking/running paths, playgrounds, and the all-important restrooms. Hidden in this park you will find a small Rubbermaid container filled with a nice assortment of stamps and coins from all over the world. You will not need to disturb any plants or leave the path to find this cache, so enjoy the stroll and try to imagine where we would hide something.

Since this is a Letterbox Hybrid, you will also find a hand-carved stamp and inkpad in the cache. These are NOT trade items; they are to remain with the cache. These are NOT trade items; they are to remain with the cache. I know I said that twice! Letterboxers will use our stamp to leave an image in their personal logbooks, and will use their own stamps to leave an image in the cache’s logbook. For more information about Letterboxing, check out www.letterboxing.org.

If you find a film canister containing a stamp during your search, Congratulations! You have found one of the three Letterboxes stashed in the park. Now get back to looking for the cache!

Please try to keep to the theme of this cache if you’d like to make trades. The container is small, and unfortunately there’s no room for traditional trade items. But there’s plenty of room for those coins and stamps from distant lands! We ask that you please be careful when retrieving and replacing the cache – this is usually a muggle-rich environment.

¡Buena suerte! Viel Glück! Fortuna buona! Bonne Chance! Good Luck!
