Abandonada algures no meio do campo, na aldeia de Senhora do Verde, a apenas 9 km de Portimão, está a igreja de Senhora do Verde. Construida no sec. XV altura em que Senhora do Verde foi Paróquia (Paróquia de N.ª S.ª da Assunção do Verde), sendo nesta altura uma bonita igreja em estilo gótico. Com o terramoto de 1755 parte da igreja caiu, nunca mais tendo sido arranjada. Hoje encontra-se em avançado estado de degradação.
Esta cache leva a visitar esta igreja. Apesar de a igreja estar em propriedade privada é fácil dar uma vista de olhos. A cache está fora da propriedade num local acessivel todo o ano (na altura das chuvas pode não ser possivel visitar a igreja-é necessario atravessar uma ribeira!). Para chegar lá desviar da EN-125 para Senhora do Verde/Montes de Cima (ES-532) na Penina. Depois é só seguir a estrada até encontrar as placas de Senhora do Verde. Aconselho a deixar o carro em N37 12.569 W8 35.147 e daqui seguir a pé pois é uma curta caminhada. Se levarem crianças tenham atenção aos poços existentes nas proximidades pois não têm protecções.
Aconselho também a visitarem os monumentos megalíticos de Alcalar em N37 11.881 W8 35.327 .

Abandoned somewhere in the middle of the country, in the village of Senhora do Verde, at only 9km of Portimão, there is the church of Senhora do Verde. Constructed in 15th century, when Senhora do Verde was Parish (Parish of Nª. Sª da Assunção do Verde), being in this time a beautiful church in gothic style. With the earthquake of 1755 part of the church fell, never more having been arranged. Today it’s in advanced state of degradation.
This cache will take you to see this church. Although the church is in private property is easy to give a sight of eyes. The cache is out of property in an accessible place all the year (In the height of rains it can not be possible to visit the church – it’s necessary to cross a riverside). To go there turn to Senhora do Verde/Montes de Cima (ES-532) in Penina (EN-125). Then just follow the road until you find the plates of Senhora do Verde. I advise you to leave the car in N37 12.569 W8 35.147 and from here go by foot, since it’s a short walk. If you take children have attentions to the existing wells in the neighbourhoods therefore do not have protections.
I advise you also to visit the megalithic monuments of Alcalar at N37 11.881 W8 35.327.
