Geocache Description:

No bushwhacking required however there are some rocks to climb to find this one...

This is a continuing story coming out of Albany of a man named Whistle Smith (to see the first two adventures search for The Adventures of W. Smith or search zip 97321) now on to the story...

I remember the day it was September 8th 1945 I got a letter from my good friend Three Finger Jack. Jack had shown my everything I knew about running the trains, him and I grew to be best of friends over the years. Ol Three Finger Jack and I were back east headin back to Oregon when we got word that his father had passed on, that was the last time I had heard from Jack until now. The letter explained that he had the cancer and was soon to die. The letter went on to explain Jack had moved to Bend, he asked I come down as he had some news for me. I jumped on the first train I could and headed for Bend. When I got there I found Jack laying in bed just hanging on to life. I knelt next to my friend he whispered in my ear "Whistle, some time ago I hid a treasure in the desert. It's not to far from here I want you to have it. The Treasure contains everything valuable to me, now it is yours. He gave me the directions to the treasure, then told me go now and let me rest. I headed out to find this treasure Jack had hidden. After three days of relentless searching I returned to Jack empty handed, only to find he had passed on in my time away. This Cache is in memory of my good friend who Died Septemeber 11th 1945.

Watch for more Adventures of W. Smith to see if he ever finds Three Finger Jack's Treasure.

To find this cache you must stay on the path, do not climb down the walls or you'll feel the rocky wrath. Do not climb logs for that is not the place, the trail will take you to a canyon like space.

Remember there is no need to climb down walls or trees to get to this one, you’re looking for a light blue container. There you will find two first finder Whistle Smith Whistles. Please read the ownership rules before you take a whistle.
