Geocache Description:

This is the most beautiful natural area of the panhandel. Untouched Paradise. Bring a camera you will need it.

Deer lake State park has full beach access. There is also a nature trail located on the north side of 30-A. The park is named after the coastal dune lake within the park. Coastal dune lakes are extremly rare worldwide and in the United States they only accur along the florida panhandle. Rare plants are found in this park such as the gulfcoast lupine, picture plants, spoon flower and Curtiss sandgrass. A board walk across the dunes offers access to the beach and spectacular views of the dune ecosystem. The park is open from 8 am until sundown 365 days a year.
