North Star or NAVSTAR? Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

Too Tall John: Well, my wife took my sister and her boyfriend to find this one on the 22nd, they had no problems. Earlier this week, I got reports that stage 1 was MIA, so on my way up to meet friends at the overlook, I checked, and stages 1 & 2 were gone!

After meeting up with Teich Hike & Preacher Creature, we went & retrieved the final. I've found these stages moved/missing enough times, it seems like someone likes my hand carved stamps. If they'd asked, I'd likely have carved 'em their own stamps, but since they've resorted to thievery...

Maybe if I can get the stamps re-carved & find a new spot this one'll get reincarnated. We'll see...

Geocache Description:

This Geocache/Letterbox Hybrid will lead you to the first of a
series of 3 letterboxes. You must find all 3 to log a
find!

Please park at the Calumet Conference Center. (See waypoints for coords.)

Geocaching and Letterboxing are both activities that frequently
bring participants to unique locations in search of an elusive
container. The purpose of this hybrid is to give you the
opportunity to try your hand at both!

Both hobbies require you to navigate to the location. In
geocaching, you use the NAVSTAR Global Positioning Satellites to
pinpoint a location. In letterboxing, there are many other forms of
directions, be it "Turn right at the stump" "Walk 40 paces, 165
degrees from the corner" or whatever the owner of the box wants to
use. Sometimes, these hints are puzzles...

The posted coordinates will bring you to the first letterbox, which
has both coordinates and letterbox-style clues to the next box. The
next box is set up with both clues and coordinates to the final
container. It is up to you how to complete each stage, but I
encourage you to try using the letterbox clues for at least one
stage.

Bring your letterboxing stamp and book, each stage has a unique,
hand carved stamp!
