Geocache Description:

Buttermilk Falls ,Waterman's Falls, Old Schoolmarm Falls

Since at least the mid 1950's the falls has been known as "Schoolmarm Falls." According to the book "Historical Review of Cattaraugus County", a schoolmarm took her class to visit the falls. One of the boy pupils managed to get in a perilous spot by the falls. The schoolmarm rushed to the rescue and saved the child from danger. But the schoolmarm was flung to her death in the rocky bed of the stream.
Most locals will call it Waterman's Falls named for the property owners.
This is a park and grab micro. Ment to be easy so you will have time to enjoy the view. If you choose to take the path for a closer view please take caution there are some steep edges here.
The author of "Secret Places" has made an error in the naming of Waterman Falls. It is labeled "Buttermilk Falls at Zoar."
