Mining at Mount Hope began as early as 1710, making it one of the oldest mining areas in Colonial America. For the next 270 years, mines at Mount Hope were worked almost continuously.
The cache is just off the White Trail in the northeast section of the park, near the subsistence pits of the old Teabo 2 Mine.
Due caution should be taken. There are barbed wire, green briar and mine subsistence pits in the area. The cache is a 5.5 cup Lock and Lock container.
