This county-owned bridge was built in 1935; it is historically and technically significant as the longest surviving multi-span Warren pony truss in Pennsylvania. Long multi-span pony truss bridges are more numerous in the state of Oklahoma and surrounding areas, but are nearly unheard of in Pennsylvania, where longer spanning through truss bridges were preferred for longer bridges. It was barricaded in October of 2010 after being deemed structurally deficient and potentially hazardous. As talks of repair, rebuild or removal are still underway, there is no word on what will become of this wonderful passage between Montgomery and Chester Counties.
The Zombie # 27 part of the name is a favor to the cacher who gave me the container. Nothing more, nothing less.
