The Spring Gardens is a beautiful community garden in the Spring
Garden section of Philadelphia. About 160 families raise flowers
and vegetables in the garden’s 10-by-20-foot plots.
Unfortunately, hours are very limited for guests to the garden.
The public is allowed inside only on Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm
during the season. You need not enter the garden, however, to find
the cache. In fact, your feet do not need to leave the city
sidewalk to find this one.
If the garden is closed when you visit, it is still worthwhile
to walk around the block and look at the plots. The fence
surrounding the garden is also worth a look.
