Geocache Description:

Along the Tunxis "Blue Dot/White Dot" Trail in Harwinton.

Amazing to think that this area was once stripped of trees during the 1700 and 1800's. Just over the hill from the cache is a carriage, and the hiding spot once had a stable here. Watch for old metal lying about!

This themed cache is dedicated to a girl who just loves horses! Located just off-trail on watercompany land for Reservoir #7, it is part of a side-trail loop that includes Tory's Den and Mile of Ledges, before it cuts north to /JohnnyCake Airport. its a very short walk to the cache from the updated parking coords (as of 05/17/2014) Please do not park in front of the gate, or in the driveways near the gate along the road.

Cache is a 2 and 1/2 gallon container- just shy of "large" by geocaching standards, cammoed, and hidden. Caution is advised; black bears, coyotes and mountain lions have been seen in the area; so NO FOOD in the cache, please! Watch your footing, and remember to keep your pets leashed. Along the trail to the south are several other caches, and the whole loop (15 miles?) can be done as a day-trip if you bring a lunch and plenty of water. Watch for the wild turkeys; they can be aggressive

Starting contents include 2 stuffed zebra dog-toys, a horsey themed logbook, some random toy-ness and two micro geocoins. Given the historic nature of the hiding spot; please return everything as you found it.

For those of you who also Letterbox, there are several letterboxes along the Tory's Den section of this trail as well, so on a good day, you can do both!

Special thanks (and a shout-out) to Ratsotheoctopus for keeping an eye on the cache.

Congrats to Knudsen for FTF!!
