Geocache Description:

Located near the Powell Mountain overlook/rest area right off U.S. Route 19, south of Birch River, West Virginia.

Cache is an oval container measuring 2"x3"x6.5". It will hold only smaller items, so please plan your trades accordingly. Original contents of cache: 1935 silver Washington quarter in holder, Santa face clip, N.Y. Forest Ranger patch, toy car, pencil sharpener, 2 magnets, mini fat pen, fossil coral, shell fossil, and log book with pen & pencil.

Be sure to bring a camera along when you look for this one. There is a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys from the rest area. There are also limited picnic facilities available. If you are just passing through, this is a genuine quick grab-and-go. However, you can be easily seen, both from vehicles on the highway and by anyone who might be at the rest area, so some stealth will be required.
