Geocache Description:

High atop Mt. Scott sit two large balls. Find one and you are close to the other.

Congratulations to fourmacs for having the balls to go up to the site before the sun rose to be FTF! And not surprisingly, congratulations to Scubasonic for the Second To Find. I guess the early bird got the balls this time!

One is much larger than the other. The first is the size of a studio apartment, the second is the size of your fist.

On top of Mt. Scott is a big white ball, a water tank, which can be seen from many neighborhoods in Southeast Portland and Clackamas. The Big Ball sits among high towers surrounded by luxurious homes, a gated community, fantastic views and the final resting place of the dead. The second Big Ball, not nearly as grand, rests somewhere beyond 100 feet (not any closer) from the first Big Ball, and is camouflaged to blend in with it's surroundings.

There is no need to go past the fence, even if it is open, it is not there. No need to search the nearby rock wall either. There is a telephone pole with what looks like it should be a cache hiding spot and I've labeled it otherwise so you don't waste your time.

Part of this challenge is to make your way up the mountain through the maze of streets and dead-ends to the resting place of Mt. Scott's Big Balls. Use the coordinates and your geosence to find the hide.

Parking off the road, cache is not accessible with a wheel chair. Bonus points if you walk or ride a bike up to the site, bus service not available.

Please find a good spot to enjoy the view while you are up there and share your photos in the gallery. Cache is only large enough for a log, so bring a pen and leave the rest in the geo-mobile. Please make sure the log is folded back up and that the zip-lock bag is closed before replacing the smaller ball where you found it for the next cacher to find. Log is printed on Adventure paper. If it is too moist, please dry in front of the heater vents in your geo-mobile.

Enjoy the hide and the view!
