Laconia Downtown Scenic Overlook Traditional Cache
grinsmom: While this was not a high muggle area, it is a park. I guess some cachers haven't been careful and the cache was discovered by muggles.
This was a great location and brought some historic value to the listing. The vandalism to the cache since late summer makes me think that this cache has come to the end of its road. Thank you for all the wonderful comments about the cache and its location. Perhaps, in the spring I can find a nearby hiding spot and resurrect it.

This area is a nice place to stroll.
Discover downtown Laconia, New Hampshire and a bit of its history. View The Belknap Mill that was built in 1823. It is the only remaining unaltered brick textile mill in the US and represents the first stage of industrial design. Next to it flows the Winnipesaukee River and the dam (originally constructed 1797) that for many years provided hydro power to the local mills. Weather permitting, bring a book or lunch. Find the spot, find the cache, then sit back and enjoy this picturesque area of redeveloped downtown. If you are a weekday cacher and have the time and the interest, there is an industrial knitting museum, the only one in the world, at the mill.

The cache will receive maintenance from BuckeyePilot and Snoopy should it become necessary.
As part of Fall maintenance, I placed a new log into the cache on 11/7/08.
