It's a camo'd decon container, NOT on the ground. The terrain rating is for the looong hike to get here.

On my northward trek I passed (from behind) a Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Zone sign at N 34 12.067 / W 118 42.594 and continued. The cache is at a place on the trail where both sides offer good hiding places. Choose the west side!

Cache Logs

My notes say ftf since February - obviously that's not right, I must have turned over two log pages or something. Anyway: not sure if the Conservation sign means anything, there's another one this side of Ahmanson Griswold, probably just because you're at a junction and they want to remind you about firearms and such. July 10 by CalabasasPacker (1879 found) #1817 Out for a nice hike up the canyon from where I live. Had the day off from work, so why not enjoy a hike as I get ready for the annual Sierra backpacking trip. A nice little 10 mile hike with 10 cache finds to boot. TFTC [view this log]
