A fairly easy cache that takes you up to over 12,000 ft!
It's not often that you get to log an easy 12,000 ft. cache, but
here's one for you! You'll start out at around 11,800 ft. and work
your way up to more than 12,000 ft. Note that this cache is only
reachable from late May through early October. Bring a jacket any
time of year.
Start by parking at N 40° 26.458' / W 105° 45.285'. You'll have
only about a 1/3 mile walk up to the cache coordinates from here,
but what a 1/3 mile walk it is! You'll quickly see how the hill got
its name.
Be sure to stay on the trail - the terrain is very fragile here.
No physical cache here - just a terrific view. To validate that
you've reached the cache site, email me (tgspidell@yahoo.com) the
last word on the bronze plaque located at the cache coordinates,
then log your find. Please don't include the answer in your log,
and don't include a photo of the actual plaque.
