Geocache Description:

This event has been arranged to coincide with an 'Introduction to Geocaching' walk that I am leading.
(just one of walks in the area this weekend as part of the annual Mendip Hills Walking Festival)

The Burrington Inn
Sunday 6th September
1pm to 2pm
(to sign the log book, but welcome to arrive earlier or stay later)

I will be taking a group of people on an organised walk in the morning to introduce them to geocaching and thought it would be nice if they were able to meet and chat to some of the local cachers afterwards (non-locals also welcome).

We should be arriving back at the Burrington Inn around 1pm. We will either be on the benches in the garden/carpark area or if the pre-ordered weather doesn't arrive (I may have used up my allocation with Mega week!) and there are a lot of us, the pub have said that we are welcome to use the conservatory (turn left when inside) otherwise we will just be in the bar area.

So why not come along for a mingle and a chat .... to show that we are a nice friendly crowd and not just weirdos with gadgets!

Location: The Burrington Inn, Burrington Combe
Time: 1pm to 2pm (to be able to sign the log book)
Parking: Plenty of parking in the pub car park
Food, snacks etc: Available from 10am, no need to book
Dogs: Sorry, they aren't allowed in the Burrington Inn as it is mainly a 'food venue' however, there are plenty of benches and grass areas in the grounds

Volunteers I won't know the number of walkers booked on the organised walk until a few days before hand, but if there are a lot of people it would be great if I could have some volunteers to help out and accompany me on the walk along with your GPSr. This would allow us to split into smaller groups with an experienced cacher to help and advise the newbies in finding some new caches that we are hoping to put out in time for the event. If this is something that you may be interested in helping out with, then please contact me for more details.
