owadem1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of owadem1 to find out about the status of this cache on May 10th 2006. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

If you would like to replace it and have it reinstated, please contact me through my profile.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in the area of Garfield Woods off of Old Lancaster Rd in Berlin Massachusetts. The terrain is an easy hike where large bolders are left over from the ice age. It's about .6 miles from the road.
Park at the sign displaying "Garfield Woods". Follow the white Sudbury Trustee triangular markers across a railroad track to the yellow trail. The railroad track is active so listen for trains which do not come very often.

The cache was put together by my two six year old children, now eight. Most of the initial contents are small toys, crayons, a golf ball, a tool, glue, and a small flashlight.

Follow the trail marked by small yellow triangles until you come to a long path and take a left turn off the yellow trail. There are many intersecting trails, so you will need your GPS to find this cache. There are some houses near the area, so if you come upon a house turn around because you went the wrong way.

You may see a few "No Trespassing" signs but I was told by a local home owner that these signs are for ATVs and dirtbikes. Hiking is welcome.

The cache is somewhere behind a group of very large bolders where one of the bolders is about 8 feet high.

Look at the large rock formations and notice the parallel lines that cover the surface. This reminds me of how lava formations occur undersea. I'd like to find out more about why the bolders have these lines.

Have fun and good luck finding the cache.
