Geocache Description:

Level terrain, lots of mosquitoes. Thanks to Memsochet for upgrading my cache.

If you ever wondered why NW Ohio was once called The Black Swamp, visit this cache to find out. Most of the entire area, from Lima to the Mich. line, and from Cleveland to the Indiana line was once so swampy or boggy, it was almost impassable in the summer. The early pioneers dug hundreds of miles of ditches to drain the land, thus exposing the great soil we now have.
The cache will be high and dry, but the area may still be pretty wet and muddy after the spring rains. The box is a small 2x4x2 camo colored box. No room in it except for the log, and a TB if it is small.
Please replace the camoflague over the rock and be sure to put the rock back. There is plenty of camoflague nearby if you need more.
This is a spooky area, and would be great for a night hunt. Remember that great 1954 movie ( some of us older geezers do), well I'm pretty sure it was filmed here. Goto: (visit link) for some pics of the creature who lives here. If you don't run into the creature, maybe you'll see the woman:)
