Geocache Description:

SEARCH FOR THE GREAT PUMPKIN with tricks and treats will take place for the young at heart of all ages.

LOST IN THE SIXTIES will offer a short 30 minute drive around the Town of Uxbridge in search of four centuries of history. (This is expected to be a poker run with instructions available around Noon.)

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES are welcome, moreover, this would be a great time to show off your BLAZE ORANGE attire or may dress for the sixties, 1960s, 1860s, 1760s, 1660s or even the 2060s.

200 yard cache by McDyver Clan around 3pm, possibly a seperate one for the teens.

MAP & COMPASS skills offered by JohnX at 1pm, meet at flag poles.

OTHER activities will be posted as we have a few offers and details.

SPECIAL GUEST: Margot Kelley, author of new book on her geocaching experiences has been invited to join us for a signing. More details and weblinks to be added when confirmed.

EVENT BUTTON by ???, but you have to work for them by finding the nearby Wander Lust cache.

NAMETAGS are suggested including team's screenname. Many design their own in advance, however, we will have the "Hi, my name" kind available to help in your meet and greet activities.

REFRESHMENTS include hot apple cider to complement the bring-a-treat table; your hot and cold potluck dishes are welcome.

TRAVEL BUG exchange table will be available. To facilitate smooth transfer, please consider posting a note in advance to drop the TBs you will be bringing. Please take no more than one for each one you bring. If you have an extra one to drop, that will allow a newcomer to grab one if they can help it along. Please sign them in and out on sheet of paper that we use for answering any questions that arise during the week to follow. Log them out on website as soon as you can, but do allow some time if they were not dropped early.

CACHE ITEM exchange will be a Fall Classic "REDSOX wait till next year" swap variation. You are invited to bring trade item(s) (with value about $5) either gift wrapped for the season or not and please distinguish between child and mature items. At about 3:15pm, we will start drawing one name at a time for someone who is in the room to pick out an item. Each person or team which brings something will get a chance to choose. If you must leave early, something will be arranged. Keep it simple, make it fun.

DIRECTIONS for those that want them: Use exit 10A from MassPike for route 146 South, take Route 16 East to Uxbridge Center, turn left on Route 122 North, in 1-1/2 mile turn right at next traffic light onto Hartford Avenue, then in one mile turn right on Oak Street. Visitor Center is large red barn.

From Rhode Island, take Route 146 North to second exit in Mass, Route 16 and follow as above (there are visitor center signs at each turn).

From the east for those traveling I-495, use exits 19 (rt 109) or 20 (rt 85) westbound to Route 16 and turn west. Drive through Milford into Mendon and however HARTFORD AVENUE has been DETOURED so DO NOT TURN at Visitor Center sign, rather continue west on Route 16, then in four miles turn Right onto Oak Street across from St Mary's Church. At the fork in road, keep right on Oak Street.

PLEASE USE LARGE GRASSY FIELD FOR PARKING LOT TO LEAVE SPACES AT VISITOR CENTER FOR GENERAL PUBLIC.
