Thanks for allowing me to showcase at least one of Arkansas’s great natural resources in the Eastern half of our beautiful State and point out that Geocaching is the perfect eco friendly outdoor family activity to add to our State Park Trails. It was a huge leap of faith to allow so many caches on such small acreage and on such a completely open trail with few places to hide them. Thanks for your confidence.
Not many non-mountainous trails have the distinction of drawing visitors from 3 States away just to ride bikes on it. Great job!
It was almost 5 years ago that I took up this challenge and I have invested over 6,000 miles of biking and hiking on this trail to place and maintain these 114 caches for the purpose of showcasing this effort by the Arkansas State Parks Department to build and maintain a safe, kid and completely handicap friendly place to bike and walk. It has been a grand adventure but I think it is time to allow someone else the challenge. I hope you find it the same engaging challenge that I have for almost 5 years.
As per the Geocaching.com guidelines for responsible cache placement I have removed these caches after archiving them - and I have left no trace behind.
Geocache Description:

Third segment: Lick Creek Trail Head parking area [SP#29GPT] (1.5mi south of Hwy#49) to Oneida Parking area [SP#69GP] (5 mi farther south) in the Delta Heritage Trail State Park series.

Delta Heritage Trail State Park is a 73 mile “Rails to Trails” hiking and biking trail that starts near Lexa and Barton and when finished will end near McGehee. At this time only the first 14 miles is finished (Lexa to Lake View) and open to the public. It is very open and extremely well maintained and runs through some unique delta area landscape we‘re sure you will enjoy. This is a great trail if you like open spaces and wildlife actually living in the wild plus with the easy access you can do this one in small sections using the 4 parking areas provided so far.

This old elevated Delta area railroad easement is now surfaced with small gravel, so smooth all you need are street tires on your bike and no boots needed. No ruts, no mud, no fighting your way through brier patches or poison oak, great bridges, park benches along the way, and there are year round primitive camp sites and picnic tables at the Visitor Center on Hwy#49 plus you can even rent bikes there for the little cachers. (Pick up some bird watching brochures here too, no telling what you may see along the trail.) And at the right time of the year lots of large pecans can be found along the trail.

"Delta Heritage Trail State Park"

These cache names and segments are organized to try and help orient you along this 14mi trail G =Gate at a crossroad, B=at or near a park Bench, P=Parking area, V=Visitor center, C=Camping in area, R=Restrooms in area, T= Trash containers in area,E=End of trail so for safety reasons don't go beyond this cache. And numbered sequentially starting at the Lexa trail head with “#1GPT”.This trail is continuous for the whole 14 miles and these "segments" are just marking one parking area to the next.>

The trail is open from sunrise to 1 hr after sunset and the Visitor Center/camping/picnic/restrooms gate opens at 7am and closes at 9:PM

We hope you enjoy this completely handicap accessible 14 mile trail, you respect the area and you have fun finding all 115 of these geocaches along Arkansas' Delta Heritage Trail State Parks; bike trail.
