Geocache Description:

This cache is placed off of a multi-use path along the Pantano wash on the east side of town. It's an easy walk and the cache is just off the main path. It is camouflaged to blend in, but hidden in plain sight. There is plenty of parking and easy access to the path from the west side of the wash at Broadway Blvd.

I've put a few trade items in to get things started along with the log book and a pencil. The tin box that is the actual cache can be easily removed from its hiding spot.To access the cache container you will need to remember that this cache "Goes 211" Please be sure to secure the cache when you leave. Keep an eye out for other folks walking or biking along the path, they can kinda sneak up on you if you aren't watching. One last thing, please try to clear some of your footprints away from the cache area when you leave. Thanks!

This cache was put together as a tribute to the movie "This is Spinal Tap". For those of you who haven't seen it, the movie is a "Mockumentary" about the Heavy Metal band "Spinal Tap". For many fans it holds a wealth of quoteable lines. Rather than trying to review or descibe the movie to anyone who hasn't seen it; I'll just let Rob Riener describe it. This is the way the film begins.........

"Hello; my name is Marty DiBergi. I'm a filmmaker. I make a lot of commercials. That little dog that chases the covered wagon underneath the sink? That was mine. In 1966, I went down to Greenwich Village, New York City to a rock club called Electric Banana. Don't look for it; it's not there anymore. But that night, I heard a band that for me redefined the word "rock and roll". I remember being knocked out by their... their exuberance, their raw power - and their punctuality. That band was Britain's now legendary Spinal Tap. Seventeen years and fifteen albums later, Spinal Tap is still going strong. And they've earned a distinguished place in rock history as one of England's loudest bands. So in the late fall of 1982, when I heard that Tap was releasing a new album called "Smell the Glove", and was planning their first tour of the United States in almost six years to promote that album, well needless to say I jumped at the chance to make the documentary - the, if you will, "rockumentary" - that you're about to see. I wanted to capture the... the sights, the sounds... the smells of a hard-working rock band, on the road. And I got that; I got more... a lot more. But hey, enough of my yakkin'; whaddaya say? Let's boogie!"

I've also put together a compilation of music that I felt "Goes To Eleven!" It's mostly classic rock, hard rock/metal and what I'd call "big rock" with a few laughs along the way. I've tried to keep it family friendly, but you know your family better than I do, so use your best judgment.

Rather than continuing to put actual CD's in the cache, we've decided to go digital! When you find GT11 and log your visit we will email you a link to a download a file (136 mb .zip) that includes the mp3 mix and cover art!

So break out the GPSr and your Air Guitar and get ready to ROCK!!!

Email if you need a hint (after a logged DNF).

"This is Spinal Tap" does for rock and roll what "The Sound of Music" did for hills.
