The cache is only big enough for the log. BYOP. This cache is very very active. Sometimes getting as much as 5 to 10 hits a day when the weather is good. This makes it very hard to maintain the log since it needs to be changed out almost weekly. The original log is double lined on both sides. Please use only 1 line per cacher if possible to minimize the amount of time needed to change it out. If full, I have no problem with a photo log or even taking a cacher's word on the find.
P.S. The log gets filled very quickly for this cache. If it's full, please don't push down the old log to stuff in a temporary log in there. I had to replace two cache containers so far because I can no longer pull out the jammed log because it was stuffed so tight in there. If you do want to place a new log or paper in there so that you could sign, you have my permission to throw away the old one first or you could keep it as a momento. Just don't leave the old one in there. Thanks in advance.
The East Coast Memorial is a World War II war memorial in Battery Park in New York City. It is one of three war memorials in the United States administered by the American Battle Monuments Commission. The others are the West Coast Memorial in San Francisco and the Honolulu Memorial.
The memorial commemorates U.S. servicemen who died in coastal waters of the western Atlantic Ocean during World War II. A total of 4,609 names are inscribed on both sides of eight 19-foot-tall granite pylons. The pylons are arranged in two rows of four each. Between the two rows stands a bronze statue of an eagle, erected on a black granite pedestal. The eagle faces the Statue of Liberty in New York harbor.
The memorial was designed by the architectural firm of Gehron & Seltzer. The eagle statue was created by Albino Manca, an Italian-born sculptor. The granite slabs were set up in October 1959, while the sculpture was installed on February 4, 1963.
