Geocache Description:

Its June, a small black and white dog and two disorganized organizers with a penchant for camping have finally pulled their fingers out, it can only mean one thing....

Yup, Carry On Camping 2009 is about to explode once again for its 5th year in a row!

This year we will be mostly camping in the beautiful setting of West Ayton near Scarborough. Now we know this isn’t Whitby as previously declared, but it’s as close as we could get so hopefully Alma will be relieved to hear this after his 7 hours slog to Dartmoor (during our 2007 event).

So pitch up your tent, slam down your sleeping bag and arm yourself to the teeth with government worrying "Weapons of Cache Deduction" for a weekend of camping, relaxing, socialising and, at a lesser extent to some, GEOCACHING!.

Our base for the weekend is High Yedmandale Farm which looks like a fantastically laid back place with plenty of space for everyone to chill and generally kick back.

The campsite has advised that although this is a dog friendly site, you must advise the campsite if you want to bring more than one dog. Only quiet, well behaved, non-aggressive dogs will be permitted to stay on site. Your dog must remain on its leash at all times. If you have a dog that barks continuously the campsite has asked politely that you don’t bring them.

This is a campsite that prides itself on its tranquil settings, therefore (for once!) we shall all have to be on our best behaviour and not be such a loud and rowdy bunch (we can go elsewhere to do this!! Maybe a beach party or expedition to the local Go Ape??). For non-camping cachers we shall organise a get together at the nearby pub (Ye Olde Forge Valley Inn) on the Sunday afternoon. More details to follow shortly!

To book your space please telephone the very lovely Ken on 01723 862188 and say that you want to book a pitch as part of the "JOANNE" group (then we should all be put close together).

I think that’s everything for the time being, except to remind everyone to:
"START PRAYING FOR SUNSHINE FOLKS!!!"
