THIS IS OUR 50TH HIDE!!!!!!!
Across the main road from the picturesque town of Kaapschehoop. To access this cache you will need to go into Kaapschehoop to a lovely place known as "Koek n Pan". There you can obtain permits to do the hike to the waterfall at R10. Just ask to do the Battery Creek Hike.
Park your vehicle through the gates next to the boom gate that leads to the cemetary. From here your walk starts.
Please ensure that you take liquid refreshments along as the hike can be tiring. Take a walk past the cemetary and down the road to the edge of the gorge to a dead stump. Just to the right of this stump is the entrance to the pathway that will lead you to the cache. See additional "Down Here" waypoint below.
The pathway can be very slippery when it has rained, so please take care. This is a well used path and is very easy to follow. There are two signs along the way indicating Battery Creek Waterfall.
The path may seem to split at times, but all the paths lead to the same place, so do not worry. The path will cross the river a few times.
Please take note that GPS reception in the gorge is very poor, but the hint should ensure that you find the cache.
We hope you enjoy the waterfall as much as we do. This is a very sentimental place for us, as it is the first place that Chris took me to when we started dating.
(Be warned... this is a very good hide and easy to over look!!)
