Wrack in Stenye
On the west coast of the Prespa lake on the foothill of Galichica National Park lies the village Stenye. It is located near the Macedonian-Albanian border. This is a tourist destination for people who like less crowded places, where they can enjoy nice long sand beach, walks along the coast, visiting religious and historical places.
Stenye on the Prespa Lake
Only few villagers live in Stenye during all the year, however during summer the village is full. The main occupation of the villagers is, no surprise, fishing. Growing apples is the main agricultural activity. And tourism, of course. There are apartments and room for rent in Stenye, and you will be hosted in traditional Macedonian hospitality.
The beach in Stenye
There are interesting places around Stenye, which you can visit: Kula (a medieval fortress), Lozyata (Neolithic settlement), Pevchinya (Roman settlement and necropolis) and other.
The wrack and (captain) Galejnik
This cache will bring you to a ship wrack on a beach. This boat was used by a public fish enterprise which, unfortunately, went into bankruptcy. Only the wrack has remained, to reminiscent of better times…
The cache is a micro/small magnetic plastic container.
How to get there:The village Stenye and this cache, lies about 23 km from the city of Resen. It is the last village on the west coast, near the Macedonian-Albanian border. You can also get there from Ohrid city, over the Galichica Mountain.
Please, extreme stealth and precaution is required when getting out, logging and putting back the cache, in order to protect it of Muggles! In case of lost of the cache the owner can visit the location and restore it only 1-2 per year! Thanks.
