January 18 by MallycatInk (106 found) Thanks for the thought and care you put into this one. Unlucky isn't necessarily bad here. We took a parachute guy and left a Honduran coin. Don't spend the ten centavos all in one place. Since someone else came today, there may be only two scratchers left. We are keeping the one we scratched for the memories.[This entry was edited by MallycatInk on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 7:47:19 PM.] [This entry was edited by MallycatInk on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 11:48:17 AM.]

No detour for us, straight to the final. I love it when I find a cache with a new twist. The scratch tickets added a special touch and I will be telling caching friends about your cache. We took a bracelet and left an army man. We also picked up a geocoin. Thanks for the unique cache!

August 14, 2009 by globalgirl (1000 found) Guess I best disable this honey til I have a chance to replenish the scratch tickets. tfc0869's suggestion to forgo the periodic trek to stash a fresh supply of those cute gold-leafed scratch tickets in favor of a (no doubt far less labor-intensive) "simply pick one" coordinate system is tempting... Ah but then the fun of physically scratching your future geofortune ala a pretty lottery ticket would alas be lost! This cache has been out for many happy years now and folks have lately been kindly prudent in scratching but one ticket per caching group - THANKS! So I don't mind at all heading over to my old geosandbox for an occasional maintenance trip. It just might take a bit as I'm presently (due to a recent reckless step-up in floppys - will I NEVER learn?) not even able to hobble to my car!

July 31, 2009 by tfc0869 (290 found) Hi, thanks for the hunt. The last ticket is all that's left, and the last user left it in place with the coords showing. If these tickets are hard or expensive to create, you might just list two sets of coords and say "pick one!" Anyway, I'm feeling like Prince Phillip near the end of Sleeping Beauty...before he slew the dragon...encountering fortifications and LOTS of thorns. Ow, ow, owww Found it, so all is well.

June 25, 2009 by The Jester (3209 found) Well, I had some 'dumb luck' - there was a muggle camped in a chair right next to the next stage! I was working overlapping caches (starting multi's and finding/starting other caches while on the way to the final), so I headed off to find others. On the way back, the guy was still there. April 3, 2009 by xolohunter (45 found) What luck!!! We were so excited to do this one. We hid the first a little better (more coverage) as it could be seen from fairly far away. I made my niece choose the scratch ticket we would use. She was nervous and sure she’d pick the detour one…. But she didn’t. After 2 awful soggy non-productive geocaching days this was a wonderful way to start our day. We had to wait out a family at the first waypoint and at the final there was a “security” person watching us so had to sit and pretend to be hanging out for a while. Lots of trash which was odd since there was a trash can right there so we picked up and didn’t have to “trash out”. Still lots of scratch tickets left. THANKS FOR THE FUN!

The dog had been so patient through all the fuss during the day that it was a perfect way to burn some pent-up energy off him too.Working in the dark definitely increased the challenge of this multi though; looked far too long with a flashlight for the detour until I almost tripped into the hinted location (thank goodness I read the clues!); and was laughing at myself the whole way to the final because of it. ;+) Sure was fun scratching the ticket; thanks so much for all the extra effort to make this a fun one! March 17, 2009 by globalgirl (1000 found) Gosh, looks like I missed both FluCacher and the Voodoo Dolls yesterday. I stopped by about 4 pm-ish to replenish the supply of tickets (there's now 25 ready for scratchin' so - with any "luck" - should last through the summer months.) I also made the prickly "detour" wpt a bit easier to nab (though not too very easy as those pricklies are deliberately meant for the "unlucky".) And finally, I checked the final, and all was well there too. (there was a geocoin in the box but I didn't check to see just what it is, and left it for others to find.) Oh, and almost forgot - dropped the Yellow Rocket TB while I was at it, so the final box is pretty full.

August 19, 2008 by CTB_Cache (141 found) This is how this find went down for my party. 1. Quickly find first stage. Get ticket and excitedly move off toward stage two. 2. Encounter thick patches of thorny blackberry bushes. Not too bad, just need to be careful. 3. Encounter nest of garter snakes. Not dangerous, but certainly enough to move a couple of our group to the sidelines. 4. Lead searcher gets attacked by black wasps. Searcher has lost his excitement for cache and decided to drop the effort as well. 5. Sole remaining searcher take up effort to locate final stage. Pushes past thorns, steps over snakes and keeps up the fight. Finally is attacked by nest of hornets and goes screaming out to trail. Let's just chalk this up as a "DNF" and go home so I can apply ice to hornet stings. But don't let me stop you. I'm sure some of you will really love this one. God's speed.

July 8, 2008 by globalgirl (1000 found) Oh dear, sounds like you're a bit confused Evac156. Sorry to hear it, but the encrypted clues (for the detour as well as the final) are both respectively quite helpful. Not sure if you happened to scratch a "detour" ticket or not, but if you'd like some help, just shoot me an email.(and yes, this multi is deliberately set up so that of course you'd not know until you'd found something at the coords on your scratch ticket - whether you'd gotten the "detour", else got lucky and went straight to the final.)

November 18, 2007 by rodgowdy (2987 found) Excellent Multi! I met globalgirl at the Space Needle event and mentioned that my son is bored with the run-of-the-mill hides we have been finding. She tipped me off to this one and she was correct, it was (is) a hit! Of course we took the Dumb Luck Detour, but that made it much more fun! Thanks so much! (449)Took a picture of my son trying to figure out which ticket to take!

October 8, 2007 by tsunami_KNUW (1290 found) What a fun cache idea! Go figure, I had to take the detour but was soon back on my feet and found the final. I too had a little trouble finding the first waypoint and I came across the old plastic container with some baggies and coins in it. I took it and threw it away (after taking out the coins of course :) TFTC!

October 4, 2007 by globalgirl (1000 found) Sorry you missed it GNW, but I made a trip up that way to check on it today and the container (a nice chunky squat themos) with the scratch tickets is right where it should be.There's really not that many hide options in that area for a container of that size, and I double-checked the coords - they are spot on with an EPE of 10 ft. w/ WAAS. While I was at it, I added another 16 scratch tickets (so there are now a total of 27 - plenty to last a goodly while if each group of seekers takes just 1.) I also checked both the detour wpt and the final - all 3 wpts are good to go.

September 30, 2007 by GoNorthWest (377 found) Was doing some caching on the other side of the lake today, and was going to avoid multi caches. But, this one was intriguing, so I gave it a go. However, was not able to come up with anything at WP1. Perhaps the rain was affecting my GPSr too much, or perhaps it was muggled. Found the top of a round tupperware container, and a clear, round container with a red screw top and a couple of baggies inside. But no tickets anywhere!

September 22, 2007 by cache'n'dash (172 found) Wow we liked this one! Started looking for this one with Mjr. No Name, as always. Then, we bumped into Ski Boy and Slatrat! Thanks Slatrat for the lovely school bus geocoin!!

September 22, 2007 by slatrat (568 found) Ooooh - this one was great fun! It was very exciting to do our first Global Girl cache and it was as spiffy as we'd expected. It was doubly fun because the Ski Boy and I bumped into Cache 'n' Dash and Major No Name and we all did the cache together. Waypoint 1 was tricky. It took us quite a bit of time to locate the cache. And then off we went - to the detour. And it's pretty darn neat. We then headed off to the final location. The scratch-off concept is brilliant. Took: A heart signature item. Left: The Nostalgiker geocoin and a very cute school bus geocoin that gets to go live with Cache'n'Dash.

September 15, 2007 by Ruhlandpedia (83 found) (only moved 5 feet! it took us an extra 20 minutes to find!) Before we managed to find WP1, we found a peanut-butter jar w/ a red lid with a plastic bag inside. Oh, and a brown/black mini m&ms tube (also empty.) As far as I can tell, the clue for the 1st WP was completely useless. In our whole group (6 or 7 people) we only took ONE (just one.) card. Oh well. Anyway, straight shot to the final, where, not only was the log kind of soggy, but we took nothing. Left nothing. And signed the log. There was some gross garbage guarding the final .

September 11, 2007 by funkan (346 found) We probably took far more of a detour than was intended. September 8, 2007 by ^damian^ (242 found) When I was last here about a week ago, I couldn't find WP1 at all. It looked like the park had removed the spot where it had been hidden, so it was nice to see that fact confirmed by you, globalgirl. Today I found the new WP1 (which is still stocked with tickets) without a problem, and that led me to the final. Took nothing, but left a glass heart. Thanks for the cache!

September 4, 2007 by globalgirl (1000 found) Finally worked up a new stash of (***16***) scratch tickets and skipped on over to tuck them in the...Uh-oh! The entire natural hide was completely gone, and the container for the stash tickets was nowhere in sight! But I brought along a new (watertight) container and tucked it within 5 ft. of the original spot, along with... PULLLEEEEEEEZZE people! I left a note wrapped with the scratch tickets pleading that you take but ONE ticket - no matter how many cachers that might be in your group. You only need ONE ticket to find the final and - seriously, these tickets are a good bit of work to make. If I have to keep replenishing the stash every 5 finds, I'll be (most reluctantly) forced to arhchive this cache. So I surely hope this new batch of 16 tickets will last at least through 16 finds (or more if each pair/trio/group of cachers takes but 1). - THANK YOU.

April 5, 2007 by Sugar Glider Sweatshop (1065 found) So here's the thing about sugar gliders. Because they're so small, they have to be cautious of predators. On the other hand, they are intensely curious about everything. It's an inner conflict we call the "I don't like it, what is it?" syndrome. That's how we felt today. On the one hand, we didn't want to be chumps and get a detour ticket. On the other hand, we didn't want to go right to the final without knowing what the detour was like. Well, we were chumps and were pleased to hit the detour before reaching the final. We took Claire's Bling Everything, left a Mighty Grip, signed the log, and dropped ICM's JungleGarmin Geocoin. This was an impressive cache indeed. Thanks, globalgirl. There are 10, maybe less, tickets left. 502 (Had to fix those typos. They've been bugging me.) Notified globalgirl, and upon 2nd try today, LA, lynslou and ebear found scratch tix restocked (thanks!). Found the first WP, but dumb luck was not with us, and we did not go straight to the cache, do not pass go, do not . . . . But we found the 2nd WP, and then the final without a problem. A nice day for a walk. However, there were a few problems with the final . . . no log book, so I signed the back of the cache note. Also, there seems to be a nest of something related to bees in the immediate vicinity of the final . . . two in our party of four shared three stings between them. So we quickly finished up and moved on. Except for the bees, we loved this one. TFTC, but not the bees.[This entry was edited by FluteFace on Sunday, October 30, 2005 at 10:06:26 AM.]

July 5, 2005 by NBJPoppa (2005 found) I have been meaning to get out here ever since I saw globalgirl's post that she had left a signature item in this cache. I finally made it out this evening. Although I had assumed that the new final location was going to be close to the old final, I realized that I should go back to waypoint 1 to get the correct coordinates.Well, that proved to be a bit more difficult than I had expected. I *thought* I found waypoint 1 here, but I just couldn't see it. Was it here? No. Nor here, either. I finally went back to my car and compared the currently posted coordinates with those in my GPSr. Oh! It's moved! Hmm, the new coordinates look quite a bit different from the old ones. I wondered if I was going on the detour. When I arrived near the new coordinates I found a likely hiding spot, but I couldn't find anything. My only excuse is that I am *still* exhausted from the July 4th activities. I finally spotted the container at 8:06 PM. Upon opening it I found it was the final, too! (I also saw that I was the first to log a find in the new log book. Whee.) I found and took the signature item. In exchange I left the Travel Bug "TB Daniela". TFTC!

March 8, 2005 by NBJPoppa (2005 found) I went out of my way this morning and came over here to pick up the Travel Bug "Jetson's Jane His Wife". When I arrived the place was fairly buzzing with activity: people walking dogs, people just walking, a few who seemed to be watching the sunrise, and three folks with cameras mounted on tripods! Since it was such a lovely morning I decided to enjoy the day myself -- even if I couldn't get at the cache. As I went to find a seat, the photographers moved closer to where I was and aimed their cameras "right at" me! Then I heard them talking about something out towards the wter (I think), but the only thing I could see from my angle was a "duck". Perhaps they were bird-watchers. After about 7 minutes they moved off and "the coast was clear" so that I could get at the cache. At 7:43 AM I got the Travel Bug I sought, and left the "Fast Eddy" TB in exchange.Edit: Corrected log type to "Write note". January 29, 2005 by 6 Pack Rats (1195 found) Fun idea for a cache! I let the little Pack Rat who was with me today pick the ticket. He did so good at Thou Shalt Not cache I knew he would do better than me:) And he did! We had dumb luck with no detours:)Thanks for GG for another fun hunt!

January 23, 2005 by Tiara del Fuego (417 found) How could we pass up this cache? We loved clam cowboy and this one has such a neat concept. When we arrived, we looked and looked to no avail. Later (with the help of the cache's guardian angel ) we learned it had been plundered (wow, it was crazy to see how much Seattle's population size effects cache half life. In little Ol' Portland, things tend to last quite a bit longer.) and were given enough clues to make the find! Took Lonely Ladybug TB (we'll get her to CA in Februray) and left devil duck! Thanks for taking the time to share this one with us. You are so super!

January 23, 2005 by Armando & Co. (405 found) Well yes, it was dumd luck that you were checking up your other caches and we ran into each other. With little help from GG we were able to find the second waypoint and then the final cache! TN left our sig item.Thank you for the hunt

January 22, 2005 by Half-Canadian and Scooter the Wonder Dog (4123 found) Another great stop on the globalgirl weekend tour. I took the detour and was not disappointed by the extra stop. The errant waypoint (and the hint) made me laugh out loud! The cache was nicely hidden and Scooter even managed to slip in a quick swim while I was logging the cache. Dropped off a TB (3 ball) and grabbed another one (Hacker). Also left an antique Washington state sales tax token. TFTH!

January 20, 2005 by Moun10Bike (7735 found) What a great setup! Very nicely done! I visited in-between waypoints on the nearby "Kite Lady's Flight" cache. I made the detour (and what a route I chose - I should know better by now not to always take the direct route to a waypoint!) and that was fun too. I took a rubber chicken and left a Travel Bug. Thanks for a great hunt!

January 10, 2005 by NBJPoppa (2005 found) Well, I had thought about trying to find this cache a couple of weeks ago, but that night I was tired and when I realized that it was a multi-cache I decided to not even try.Tonight, though, I decided to give it a shot. At least I should be able to find the first waypoint (and maybe even the second) before I got too tired. Well, let's just say that getting tired wasn't a problem, as it was "invigorating" tonight. (I nearly froze my [insert body-part-of-choice here] off!) It was good and truly dark when I arrived and parked in the park. On the way to finding WP1 I realized that I had forgotten to bring a TB with me to exchange at the cache. I made a mental note to fix that before heading out for WP2, but promptly forgot and left that mental note somewhere. I had several strong satellite signals, with an EPE of 16 feet, but I was still bounced around a bit. It was clear that the first place I looked had been checked before. Then, suddenly, a noise. I froze and tried to locate the source of the sound. I soon spotted the source: it was a person walking along a path in the dark. I stayed quiet and still until they were past, and then resumed searching. When I spotted WP1 I realized that I had been there first, but blindly followed the arrow. (What a ninny!) Elapsed time: ~2 minutes. As I retrieved WP1 I dropped my flashlight... and it went out. No amount of pounding it would make it re-start. The bulb must have gone. Fortuunately I *had* thought to pack a spare flasglight with me. I opened WP1 and a djinni came forth. He held out a deck of cards and told me to "pick a card! Any card!", so I did. The djinni vanished, and so I re-hid WP1. By then I as getting a bit frosty, so headed back to the car to get the third flashlight. I keyed in the new coordinates, and headed off to find WP2. As I approached the area I noticed another car parked in the dark. I didn't see anyone, so headed off to find WP2. I soon reached "the spot", but there was nothing but dirt there. I moved slightly and the cache jumped a good 60 feet away! I figured that the GPSr was just a bit confused, so I began to search the area. There was enough wind out that I really began to feel the cold. I didn't find WP2 in the "likely" area, so I began to work my way around the area. Then the GPS insisted that the cache was a good 75 feet *that* way, so I trudged on over. (Does anyone else ever experience a psychotic GPSr?) Of course, once I got just a few feet away from where I was the GPSr gleefully yelled "FOOLED YOU!" Then I heard a clinking sound. I froze again. After a few moments I saw a (another?) person walking alone in the dark with no light. Odd. Then I couldn't see the person any longer. I went back towards the cars, my mind full of stories of vandals. I finally saw a small light shining at the other car. I didn't hear any keys jungle, but suddenly the car door opened. I waited, and eventually the engine started and the person drove off. I *hope* it was his car. Now quite cold I went back to looking for WP2. What, exactly, was I looking for? I had no idea. I went back to the area where I first searched and looked again. Oh! There it is! Why did I miss that before? I extricated WP2, only to discover that I had found the cache! What Dumb Luck! I happily used the tiny pencil to sign the log, took the "Centennial Geocoin" and left the Travel Bug "Leonardo". I then re-hid the cache and stiffly made my way back to the car. (Well, it really wasn't all that bad, but my hands were so cold that I thought I would have made a good "Hook" for "Peter Pan".) Thanks for the cache! This was quite fun. Of course, it would have been more fun if it were warmer.

December 31, 2004 by TwoCyclists (309 found) Jeeeeez...we took the scenic route. A very cool cache, and finding it in the dark you can see how beautiful the lights are. We took the Snow White TB and to celebrate the arrival of a new year we left the centennial geocoin. Happy New Year!

December 28, 2004 by GO West (1630 found) Impressive detail on this cache. Got detoured, along with jcar, his a-m and my GO. That was fun, too. Cold and foggy, we could imagine how beautiful this park must be in Spring/Summer. Thanks very much again!

December 28, 2004 by jcar (3899 found) Out with GO West, GO and my eldest a.What a great idea and what fun! We got the detour, but I have a story to share to share with the cache owner when I see her next. The girls traded and I left the Snow White TB, and took the Curious George TB, plus a TB not mentioned as being in the cache. Logging it in and out. Thank you!

November 21, 2004 by lucyandrickie (8015 found) After spending part of the noon hour with GlobalGirl at Clam Cowboy we headed over to this cache to continue are luck with her caches. We got the detour but that didn't slow us up very much. We found the container tucked away in it's little cubby all nice and safe. We left a couple of travel bugs and took a squirt gun so Lucy can defend herself the next time the pirates attack. Thanks GlobalGirl for another fun adventure.

November 13, 2004 by fishiam (1229 found) Ah, the third GG cache, I'm kinda sad to have finished them all. Such clever stuff ... I mean .. scratch tickets? How cool is that. Miss K (and Iris) and I grabbed a ticket and got the dumb luck detour which (I'm a bit confused) is apparently the short route to the cache. I grabbed the double dutch exchange TB and dropped Megan, the Explorer TB. I also took care to note the three letter code and eagerly await the next ingenious GG cache. Thanks for a great Saturday morning cache! peace, fishiam

November 7, 2004 by The boy, the girl, and the chairman (10 found) Since I'm posting this comment late, I see someone found this cache after we were there. I'd still like to say "arrrgh" -- why can't we find this cache?? I love the idea with the scratch cards, and I have no idea if we got lucky or not. The clue made no sense to us. We looked all around the spot the scratch card pointed us to and found nothing but garbage. Perhaps we'll have to try again, as we had to cut our last outing short due to the cold and dark.

November 6, 2004 by Pedal Pete (25 found) Coordinates for the first stop were spot on target, and my son quickly retrieved the cache. He also picked the scratch-off ticket - really cool! - and off we went. The second hide was great as well, and also right on target, though we spent some time getting scratched looking nearby for something more substantial. We took a break and went off to find Kite Hill before returning on the search for #3. #3 was a toughie. There were *lots* of places one could hide things. It didn't help that my gps batteries died en route. We ended up searching every possible place in vain until the gps finally settled down. Again, coordinates were right on target, and my son elucidated the hide. Left Pond Skater TB, extra batteries, a frog and a game. Took star and stickers and some weird heart and skull TB. Thanks for the great hunt!

November 5, 2004 by Pepper (6526 found) Set out this morning to do some caching on the other side of the lake today with Mrs. Team IAG. This was the first on our list. Most of the fog had lifted by the time we arrived at the first wp, we had the place to ourselves. Ok so wp1 goes down fast the coords were dead on. Scratched and moved on in hopes of no detour. We as it turns out we ended up at the detour which was actully fun and creative. Mrs. IAG finds the detour also she's hot this morning. Off we go to the final and the coords there were dead on also, so much so it felt a little like cheating. The whole cache was fun, creative and one to talk about for a while. I kept the scratch off and will save it kind of like a sig item.Big fun!!!! Dropped TB took nothing but a a big ol' smile. Pepper

November 5, 2004 by markta (2014 found) When I see a new Globalgirl cache, I drop my spoon in my oatmeal and swap it for my car key. But I don't recommend this way to eat.So at 8:40 Dumb Luck descended out of the fog and attacked me like a pricker bush scratching an unsuspecting forehead. (ouch) In my ecstasy after finding the final cache, I missed the buggy bug TB. But I dropped off a brand-spankin' new TB, Miss Neutron. T: star kaleidoscope and signed log. Can Nolenator be far behind?

November 5, 2004 by fauxSteve (1332 found) Woo hoo! First to find! I must say: it was so foggy this morning that I couldn't even figure out where to park. Heck, I could hardly see the road! I wasn't sure if I had made a lucky draw of the cards even after I'd made it to the spot. I guess I've had too many evil caches on my mind and figured a regular-sized lock and lock was much bigger than it actually is, so I was looking for a clue of some kind and not the treasure itself. After some probing and looking, and a bit of head scratching, I finally decoded the hints. That clued me into the idea that I was looking for the cache itself since the spot I had arrived at matched the nudge. Within moments the cache was in hand. This is definitely an inventive idea, and I've already won more than I ever have from a scratch ticket. I'm glad I missed the detour though, because it was far too early and dark for me! I look forward to reading about other people's adventures. I left a buggy bug TB that came to me as a tag only and is now a true buggy bug... The next finder might hide everything a bit better than I did, since I couldn't tell how well I got everything out of sight. Thanks for the hide.
