Did someone say Tapas? Billiards? International Beer?

I have been considering hosting a pub night for quite a while. I was just looking for the right venue. Well folks, here it is!

Coordinates will take you to:
Luxalune
734 Osborne Street
November 4th 7 pm

Luxalune promotes itself as Winnipeg's first Gastropub. What is a Gastropub? Let's ask Wikipedia:

Gastropub
A gastropub concentrates on quality food. The name is a combination of pub and gastronomy and was coined in 1991 when David Eyre and Mike Belben took over The Eagle pub in Clerkenwell, London. The concept of a restaurant in a pub reinvigorated both pub culture and British dining, though has occasionally attracted criticism for potentially removing the character of traditional pubs.

How do I replace the missing character in this place? Toss in a few geocachers!

The Luxalune has the most diverse selection of international beer I have seen in some time. With a few on tap, and a cooler that is absolutely packed with beer from around the world. To give you some idea, their beer menu is a map of the world, with the various lagers, ales and ciders placed on the map according to their country of origin.

Their Tapas (appetizer) menu is varied and delicious. Yummy pizzas topped with international flair, and a build-it-yourself bruchetta just to name a couple.

Please post a will attend with the number of people so we can let them know ahead of time. See you there!

Was glad that I happened to be in Winnipeg and was able to attend this event. It was nice to see all the local geocachers and to meet some new ones. Enjoyed a couple of fine brews (I would recommend the Grolsh) and some appetizers - also enjoyed the incredible cookie samples provided by Tannasaurus. Thanks for organizing this and picking out such a fine venue Lizardo!

I am so glad that crackerjackie and I stopped in! It was so interesting to see who everyone was! glacier_ice tried to convice us to go out for a night cache, but we were a little too tired by that point. I really enjoyed meeting all of you and hope to see you again at the next event...

So many beers, such a small bladder. Have to go back and try the other 100 beers.
Nice to see a great turn out.
