Geocache Description:

Please join us on Saturday, December 6th from noon to 4:00 p.m. or ...

Let's gather at the listed coordinates to share caching tales with old friends
and to share our experiences with new friends.

Food and beverages will be available, but as usual, it will be Dutch Treat.

At 1:30 p.m. we will have a gift swap for those that want to participate.

If you plan to participate in the gift swap don't forget to bring a gift.

The Wily Cacher Swap

The gift swap is known by several names, such as White Elephant, Yankee Swap and Chinese Exchange. However, today this gift swap will be known as The Wily Cacher Swap. The gift swap encourages "stealing" of gifts from other participants. Parental guidance is suggested if children participate.
The stealing of gifts can be cruel and nasty.

The Wily Cacher is a shrewd and potential thief. So you ask, "Who plays the role of this shrewd thieving Wily Cacher?" You do, if it's your turn. In fact, every player will get their chance at being a Wily Cacher.

Participation in the Game

If you would like to participate, bring a wrapped gift valued anywhere from $10.00 and up or a new or unused gift that someone has given to you as a gift that you would like to "re-gift".

Upon arrival, each guest should give their wrapped and unmarked present to the host or hostess. Each participant that brings a gift will receive a ticket with a number on it. This will be your official player number. The gifts will be placed in a location where every participant is allowed to inspect them easily. The packages can be picked up, shook a bit and felt of by all the participants to see if they can determine which gifts they may want to attempt to get.

Players may trade tickets themselves. However, once the game begins the ticket number you have is your number for the game. No more trading!

The Wily Swap Rules

No Teams… Each player plays for their self!

The game begins with the host or hostess drawing a ticket to determine Player #1. Player #1 will select a gift and open it so that everyone can see it.

The host or hostess will again draw a ticket to determine the next player. This player may select a wrapped gift or "steal" a gift from any player having a gift.

If your gift is stolen, you have the option of selecting a wrapped gift or stealing any gift EXCEPT the one that was just taken from you.

Each "round or turn" will begin with the host or hostess drawing a ticket to determine the player.

The player can either select a wrapped gift or steal a gift from another another player.

A "round or turn" ends when a wrapped gift is selected and opened.

If a gift is stolen from you, you cannot re-steal it immediately from the player who just stole it from you.

There will be a maximum of 3 steals per round and GIFTS WILL NOT BE LOCKED.

Ending the Game

After the last gift is unwrapped Player #1 will have one more opportunity to exchange or "steal" a gift. Player #1 can keep the gift currently held in his or her possession or Player #1 can "draw" two tickets. Player #1 must exchange his gift with one of the two players that have the matching ticket numbers.
After the exchange, the game is over.

We hope to see you soon!
