Geocache Description:

Old Alton Bridge CITO

Old Alton Bridge CITO The Denton Area Wayward Geocache Seekers (D.A.W.G.S.) have adopted the Old Alton Bridge. This bridge, also known as Goatman's Bridge, is a historical landmark and has many legends surrounding it. Believed by many to be haunted by the Goatman himself, it has become a iconic landmark of the North Texas area. For more information on the history of the Old Alton Bridge you can check out the Wikipedia link at the top of this page.

We, as a active group in the area, have a responsibility to help out wherever and whenever we can. By adopting this spot we have committed ourselves to holding no less than 3 CITO events a year here for the next 2 years. This is something that we should consider ourselves honored to do.

The area we will be taking care of will consist of the bridge, the trails around the bridge and along the main road that runs by the bridge. CITO check in will start at 9:00am. All participants will be asked to sign in and provide a emergency contact number. After everyone has checked in it will be time for a quick announcement with the rules of the CITO.

We will be working in a woodsy area with lots of trees, thorns, possible PI, snakes and many other natural obstacles. Everyone is encouraged to dress appropriately.

CITO check in-9:00am

CITO clean up-9:15 to 11:45am

Gear turn in and trash bag collection 10:45-noon

Thank you in advance for everyone's help. See you there!!
