Bushwacking with the Beave's Brothers. Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

2qwerqE: Do NOT attempt this cache! The precipice gave way to new erosion, and the coords as stated, at least at the altitude the cache was placed, are now in thin air. The cache container for now is unrecoverable, as the tree only fell about halfway down the cliff face and is dangling by it's roots. I'll watch it over the summer and if it falls, I'll see about recovering the container. PLEASE! Do not attempt to recover the cache, unless you have a death wish. (OK, maybe a serious injury wish.)

I am supremely grateful that no one was on top, seeking this cache when the edge collapsed!

I will seek new placement nearby soon. But not too nearby!

Geocache Description:

This cache replaces the original Bushwacking With the Beave.

Bring the kids and your softball gear, as this woods is next to a great Indy Parks Eagle Crk softball complex.

Note: If you try to do this one in conjunction with Northwestway Park Cache, be aware that there is no bridge across that creek. You'll want to use the park's 59th St entrance for this one. This cache needed a new placement, since that root bole hole I chose for the hiding place turned out to be some manner of creature's humble abode, and it kept evicting the cache container. The new coords were too far from the original placement, so I'm calling it a new cache.

Follow the fence line in, and enter the woods when your GPSr shows about 60 feet to the cache. Be very careful. There is an abrupt steep dropoff at the cache location.

And be vewwwy vewwwy qwiet! The cache is not located below the precipice, so don't go down there, because you'll disturb the two little otters that I saw playing far below in the creek today. I tried to take their picture, but my camera does not have a very long zoom and it didn't turn out.

There are also very active beavers at work here, and if you are adventurous enough to walk that creek bed a bit towards the NE, you'll find several active beaver dams. The cache is a large Coleman thermos.

Watch out for incoming foul balls!
